Just a bit about me

Chef Ashley

Hey there! I’m Chef and Nutritionist Ashley, the culinary enthusiast, nutrition nerd, and wanderlust traveler behind The Nourished Wanderer. With over 16 years in the kitchen (yep, I’ve spent more time with pots and pans than most people spend watching Netflix), I’ve learned a thing or two about creating food that nourishes the body, mind and soul.

 

My food journey started when I was little, watching my grandma work her magic in the kitchen—her cooking was like a warm hug for the taste buds. After my time with good ol’ Uncle Sam, this love of food led me to train under a master chef, work as a private chef, and eventually dive into the world of nutrition. I now hold a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and am working on my master’s degree to help others eat well while keeping their taste buds happy as a dietitian. Food isn’t just about eating—it’s about celebrating culture, life, and health, and I’m here to help you do all three.

 

I’m also a mom to an amazing daughter—creative, free-spirited, and full of energy (basically my little partner in crime). She inspires me every day to embrace life’s adventures, whether it’s creating a new recipe or taking on Disney World for the millionth time. Yep, we’re those Disney fans. You know, the ones who can’t stop talking about Mickey-shaped waffles, Dole Whip, and secretly think the "Happiest Place on Earth" is actually just a really well-thought-out buffet. If you're into Disney too, welcome to the club! Just don't ask me to choose between Cinderella’s Castle and a perfectly executed crème brûlée, because that’s a real dilemma. And yes, we do actually plan vacations around snacks. (The churros, you know? It’s a whole thing.)
